Dr. William Boss is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is an assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, and had served as Director of Microsurgery & Replantation from 1985-1996. Dr. Boss currently is Associate Chief of Plastic Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center. He is internationally recognized for his extensive research on the latest advance in facial rejuvenation and breast reconstruction. He continues to lecture in the US and abroad.
Dr. Boss graduated Magna Cum Laude from Drew university and then attended University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. He spent part of his senior year at the Harvard Medical School in plastic surgery research. Dr. Boss received his plastic surgery training at Yale University where he continued to investigate the physiology of skin flaps and received awards for this work in the annual essay contest of the American College of Surgeons. His work on skin flaps was cited by Dr, Martin Robson as one of the major advances in plastic surgery in 1984. Dr. Boss completed microsurgical training at the University of California at San Francisco with Dr. Harry Buncke who is considered the "father" of microsurgery.
Dr. Boss was the first to describe fat injections for correction of the nasolabial folds (laugh lines) in 1985. It was this early research into facial rejuvenation techniques that lead to his discovery of www.isolagen.com for correction of wrinkles, acne scars and skin depressions. Dr. Boss has completed clinical research studies utilizing lasers for hair transplantation and facial rejuvenation.
Dr. Boss has been invited to lecture on his discovery and use of Isolagen in Europe and the United States. Dr. Boss was a guest professor at the Keller Cosmetic Laser Conference in November of 1997 & 1998 and requested by Dr. Keller to lecture about his experience with microincision facial rejuvenation and limited incision reconstruction of the breast. The endoscopic reconstruction of an absent breast as described by Dr. Boss requires only four 1" abdominal incisions. Dr. Boss was the first to describe this procedureand it is known as endoscopic omental breast reconstruction. Dr. Boss is now in the forefront of investigations of low level lasers and is doing a clinical trial for hair regrowth. He has also done the newest procedure of laser liposuction. Dr. Boss presented this innovative procedure to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons and the American Society of Laser Surgeons.
