Dr. Sean Boutros trained in Plastic Surgery at the world renowned Institute for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at the New York University Medical Center. He completed his plastic surgery training in 2004. He continued his training there in craniofacial surgery. He developed a special interest in aesthetic surgery and plastic surgery for children.

Dr. Boutros has dedicated himself not only to patient care, but also to expanding the knowledge of plastic surgeons and advancing the field of plastic surgery world wide. He has written several papers and text book chapters which have been published in the plastic surgery literature. He has also spoken at numerous plastic surgery conferences around the United States. In addition, he has edited a text book in plastic surgery, Current Therapy in Plastic Surgery. He, along with Drs. McCarthy and Galiano, invited many of the world's leaders in plastic surgery to contribute to this text which aids plastic surgeons across the globe. With Dr. Zide, he utilized his intricate knowledge of facial anatomy to serve as the dissector for Surgical Anatomy Around the Orbit: the system of zones. This anatomy book describes many nuances that are critical for successful aesthetic and reconstructive surgery around the eye.
