The surgery involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen in order to tighten the muscle and fascia of the abdominal wall. Often patients with loose tissues after pregnancy or individuals with sagging after major weight loss seek out this procedure.
Abdominoplasty operations vary in scope and are frequently subdivided into categories. Depending on the extent of the surgery, a complete abdominoplasty can take 1 to 5 hours. A partial abdminoplasty (Mini-Tuck Abdominoplasty) can be completed between 1 to 2 hours.
If you have exercised extensively and that little too big tummy just will not budge you might be trying to reach an impossible goal. When exercise does not bring the expected results the reason might be just too much tissue that can not be exercised away.
Many women have a hard time loosing the pooch in their tummy following childbirth. Others have lost a lot of weight, but the skin around their abdomen simply will not tighten, even with exercise. Abdominoplasty, commonly referred to as a “tummy tuck” can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen. Through this surgical procedure, Dr. Orloff removes excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen, while tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall.
Dr. Orloff also specializes in the endoscopic tuck in which a very small incision is made to tighten up the abdominal muscles. This can be a wonderful option for those patients who have developed a pooch in the tummy but don’t have significant loose skin or fat.
Another option available for consideration by Dr. Orloff is the option of performing a “mini-tummy tuck” or partial abdominoplasty, which focuses on the area below the navel only. Dr. Orloff may also suggest the possibility of abdominoplasty with liposuction in adjacent areas for maximum results.
There are many options available to correct a protruding abdomen. At your initial consultation, Dr. Orloff will discuss with you the various options available, and will make a recommendation based on your current condition and your goals and desires for the outcome of the treatment. Each treatment plan is customized to meet the specific needs of each patient. Those with large breasts may experience a variety of problems from the weight and size of their breasts, such as back, neck and shoulder pain. Many, after childbirth or simply over time, may be dissatisfied with the shape and firmness of their breasts. A breast reduction surgery or a breast lift could be an excellent solution to make one feel more comfortable and confident about the appearance of their breasts.
With a breast reduction procedure, Dr. Orloff will remove tissue in the breast to reduce the size. With a breast lift, he will remove skin and help reshape the breast to achieve a more youthful appearance.
At the initial consultation, Dr. Orloff will assess the patient’s current condition and discuss several variable as they relate to the specific patient, such as age, size and shape of the breasts, condition of the skin and what procedure would best achieve the patient’s desired goals.
