Choosing Abdominoplasty

Candidates for Tummy Tuck Surgery
If you are troubled by fat deposits or loose abdominal skin but are in relatively good shape, you may be an excellent candidate for tummy tuck surgery. This procedure is often recommended as particularly helpful for women whose abdominal muscles and skin have been stretched through multiple pregnancies. The tummy tuck procedure can also improve loss of skin elasticity in older patients.
Patients who have succeeded in losing a significant amount of weight are often eager to reshape their abdomen. For some people, a tummy tuck is a good choice. Talk to Your Plastic Surgeon
During your tummy tuck consultation, your board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Kaufman or Dr. Clark, will explain what you can expect from the procedure. If your excess fat and skin are concentrated in your lower abdomen, your surgeon may determine that a partial abdominoplasty will be a more appropriate procedure.
While a full tummy tuck takes two to four hours to complete, partial abdominoplasty takes only an hour or two.
Recovery
After 10 to 14 days, you will feel well enough to return to work. You can gradually return to more strenuous activity over the following four to six weeks.
