Their notes, filled with kind words, as well as the cookies and flowers they bring, help me remember why I went into medicine. I am a 37 year-old mother of 3 children, and I had always loved my figure, but after having gone through 3 pregnancies, I was unhappy with my appearance. My biggest concern was with my breasts: they were two different sizes and not as full as I had remembered. I wasn't physically comfortable with them, it was challenging for me to wear the clothes I wanted, and I did not feel good about my appearance any longer.

I had tossed around the idea of having a breast lift - thinking this was an easier way to confront anyone who questioned me on possibly thinking of getting plastic surgery. The idea of mentioning breast implants seemed too embarrassing and made me feel vain. I had also heard the whole process/ procedure of breast implants to be painful with a long recovery. This, of course, scared me as I have children who certainly need my help each day.

After battling thoughts around in my head, I found the courage to meet with a surgeon a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, I came home very disappointed. I was brought into a room where the doctor examined me, briefly went over the procedure, and then sent me to a room where they printed out what I call my "grocery list" of expenses. There was no mention of what I was looking to achieve, and certainly no care in explaining the details of the procedure to me. All that was important was that I met with the lady in the Financing room to discuss the cost. This is my body, and the idea of surgery was not just a "transaction" to me - and thus, I chose not to proceed at that time with that surgeon.

Two years had passed and I was still unhappy with my appearance. During this time, I had been given a name of another surgeon in Sea Girt that a friend of a friend had used for her breast augmentation. Despite my previous negative experience with the previous surgeon, I found the courage to call and make an appointment.

On the day of my initial appointment, my husband and I were greeted by the front desk and made to feel welcomed. The waiting room and décor was calming and professional. We were brought into a room so that I could be examined….thus meeting Dr. Glicksman – a very attractive petite woman with a warm smile. I felt instantly comfortable. She met with us for about 45 minutes – educating us on the world of breast implants and the “bloodless” procedure she performs that takes only an hour. She studied my breasts and took into account my objective in having them reshaped. I left that day feeling 100% sure that this was the surgeon and the time in my life to have the procedure done. She was not only professional and answered all of our questions fully, but she treated me with respect and the understanding that this is a very important, personal decision for me.

I scheduled my breast augmentation surgery for 3 weeks later...very excited and eager to get through the process. The staff at the surgery center was equally professional and personal, and made me feel very comfortable. The procedure took about an hour - and I awoke in the recovery room feeling much better than expected. Dr. Glicksman and the staff gave my husband and I very clear instructions on care and management - and made sure we were absolutely set before sending us home. That evening, Dr. Glicksman even called to check on me, which was a nice personal touch. My surgery follow up appointment was scheduled for 3 days after the surgery. I was feeling well enough that I even drove myself there.

I am currently writing this letter one week from the date of my surgery. Besides the occasional pain here and there, I am really amazed at how quickly I have recovered from the surgery. The flexibility in my upper body is improving each day. I hope to be able to swing my tennis racquet in about a month and to be able to play competitively soon after.

In conclusion, I highly recommend any woman interested in having her breasts reshaped, lifted, or augmented to make an appointment with Dr. Glicksman. I am grateful that I was given her information and that managed find the courage to call to start the very personal discussion about my appearance.

I am 44 years old, and had thought about getting breast augmentation for years. I was an athlete and have continued to stay active into my adult life. I wore a 36A which was not always easy to find, and on a 5'9" frame, way too small!! I really felt like I would be more in proportion with a fuller breast. A few things kept me from doing it earlier...

I think I always thought it was a little vane, and there was always something else to spend the money on... and I have to admit, I was a little worried about what some people would think. But I worked really hard to stay fit and I wanted a more feminine shape. My goal wasn't to look like a porn star. I wanted to look natural. Because I was active, I wanted to make sure that I could continue to participate in all the activities I enjoyed.

I looked into saline vs. silicone, also placement under the muscle vs. over the muscle.
I've seen implants on other women and I didn't want the big round ones that looked obvious. I consulted with a few Doctors. One told me how he does it, and didn't really give me options... so I quickly found a doctor who was more consultative and listened to exactly what my goals were. I also arranged for the Care Credit through their office to take advantage of 6 months 0% financing, which made my decision a no brainer!

After careful consideration, I chose the silicone 410 (gummy bears) under the muscle.
This is a naturally shaped (almost tear drop shaped silicone) and I LOVE them!!!
Dr Glicksman measured me to determine exactly what range of sizes would fit best in my body and give me the result I was looking for. I am now a 36C and I look and feel the way I should have all along.

I'd heard horror stories from some people about recovery, so I was a little nervous. But, I felt great!! Actually, right after surgery I went home and slept a little bit from the anesthesia, then woke up fine. I think I only had to take 3 Ibuprofen total, over the first 2 days, then just Tylenol was enough. I was a little swollen in the beginning, as expected, but I iced as instructed, and was up and around, cooking & doing laundry. I probably should've taken it easier, but it was tough to sit still because I felt really good. I had my surgery on a Thursday and went back to work on Monday, no problem. I did take a break from the gym, but was walking slowly just days after surgery.

It's been 8 months since my surgery. Because I chose to go under the muscle, they feel soft and natural, and they look great! What's really amazing is how great the incision healed. Dr Glicksman positioned the incision right in the crease, so you can't even see it and she only had to make it big enough to fit the implant. I went back to gym as soon as I got clearance and I'm running and lifting just the way I used to.

Dr Glicksman, Thank you so much for taking the time to go over all the details and making me comfortable throughout the entire process.

My only regret is not doing it sooner.

Sincerely,
Christine

I met with Dr. Glicksman about my breast augmentation surgery after recommendation from a friend of mine. I immediately searched for information about her on the Internet and very impressed with feedback and positive results that I found. I then went onto her website and equally impressed with her bio. I found her website very informative and navigated through it with ease.

After my appointment with Dr. Glicksman I knew that she was going to be the one to perform my surgery. My first appointment consisted not only learning about the history of breast implants, and various styles, insertion techniques, shapes and fillings but also proper breast health and how breast augmentation may affect that, and also how to maintain it. Dr. Glickman helped choose an implant that would be right for my body and would achieve the results that I was looking for.

The day of my surgery I was a little sore but nothing that I was expecting to feel. My breast muscles were slightly contracting and I found them to feel a little heavy, however I never had a breast before. The second day was probably the worse. It seemed like my breast muscles were contracting every couple of minutes. The pain however was nothing that a couple Tylenol wasn't able to subdue. Bye day three I was up and pretty much able to do whatever I needed to do with the exception of lifting things high in the air.

I am currently 3 weeks after surgery and I couldn't be any happier with my breasts. They look and feel amazing. They are so soft and I have no pain or restrictions at all. I would highly recommend Dr. Glicksman for anyone who may be considering breast augmentation.
